Asus Laptop Camera Not Working Windows 10 [Quick fix]

How to Fix Asus laptop camera is not working

Please refer to the following steps to solve camera problems:

To Enable the Camera Press the Hotkey

If you find the camera in the laptop has a problem please make sure you have enabled the camera first.

By pressing Fn + F10 simultaneously, you can enable your Asus camera before the troubleshooting steps.

Make sure the desktop displays a “Camera On” notification. Different models may have different hotkey functions.

Turn On Apps Permission

First, you can turn on app permissions for your camera in Windows 10. To do that follow the process:

Step-1: Click on [Start] button, then select [Settings]

Step-2: Then, select [Privacy]

Step-3: Click [Camera], and turn on [Allow access to the camera on this device].

Step-4: Scroll down and turn on camera access for the apps you want.

BIOS Update

Updating the BIOS firmware also improves your system stability. You can download the file from MyASUS or from Asus’ official site.

How to search and download from MyASUS?

Step-1: Input MyASUS in the Windows search bar, then click [MyASUS]

Step-2: Select Customer Support

Step-3: Select Live Update

Step-4: Select Latest Update

Step-5: Then click the download icon to download BIOS.

If the Live Update option doesn’t appear on the customer support page, it means the model doesn’t support the software download in MyASUS.

Search and Download from the ASUS Official Site

Please search and download BIOS from the Asus Official site by following the steps below:

Step-1: Visit the ASUS Official site and select support from the top.

Step-2: Enter the model name in the search bar but don’t include “ASUS” in your search.

Step-3: Find your model in the drop-down menu and select it.

Step-4: Confirm the model name and click “Okay”. And you will be automatically guided to the support page of your device.

Step-5: Select Driver & Utility

Step-6: Choose the BIOS & FIRMWARE

Step-7: Find the correct file below and click the Download button.

As for some products you need to select either CPU or BIOS model name before you enter the download page.

Perform a Repair Upgrade

You may need to perform a Repair Upgrade if the problem persists. In case there are any corrupted system files, it will repair and replace them. Follow the process to perform a repair upgrade:

Step-1: From the Microsoft website, download the Media Creation Tool.

Step-2: Run the downloaded file (MediaCreationTool.exe)

Step-3: Select “Upgrade this PC now”.

Step-4: Choose “Keep personal files and apps”.

Step-5: Let it install properly, and after the installation restart your laptop.
